When Stacey got a little older, she went away to summer camp in the big woods. It was a great place with birds, lots of trees, and a few bugs. It was beautiful and a little bit wilder than her life half way down the middle of the lane. It gave her a special feeling that felt better than the happiness she knew in the center of town.
When Stacey got even older, she started going camping and backpacking in some really wild places, and soon these places became the center of Stacey’s world.
And when Stacey wasn’t a kid herself anymore, she moved away across the country to teach other kids about nature and taking care of those wild places she loved so much. While she did this, Stacey found awesome friends and neighbors. And this community of friends joined the center of her world. It was a great life for Stacey, but she knew that not everyone had such a happy life. Stacey knew that there were sad and forgotten people in lonely places. She wanted to do something to change that.
