Stacey had studied some history, so she knew that big changes usually start with just a few people, or even just one person. Like a seed, the idea of change grows and spreads until it flowers everywhere. This is how revolutions begin. Stacey thought about how she could change peoples’ lives by making things a little more beautiful and just a little bit wild. This is how the Sunflower Revolution began.
Stacey wanted to spread sunflower seeds everywhere so that their big brightness could bring happiness to the places that needed it. She wanted to do it without warning so that people would be surprised and smile at the sunflowers. She tried to get her friends to help plant the Revolution. They all liked her idea, but said they were all a little too busy for starting revolutions. But Stacey had planted the idea in her head and she wasn’t afraid to start the Revolution all by herself. Sometimes a single seed starts the whole forest.
On a warm sunny spring evening, when the last threat of winter winds was gone, and the air had the sweet smell of spring rain, Stacey filled her pockets with seeds and hit the streets. The Sunflower Revolution had begun!
